Beef Varutharachathu

It's a traditional way of prepraring beef. Very tasty, and it is good along with puttu, chappathi and rice. It's a bit heavy dish since it contents fat of both beef and coconut.

Ingredients

  1. Beef-1/2kg
  2. Onion-3 large
  3. Green chillies-3
  4. Tomato-1 big
  5. Coconut pieces-2tbsp
  6. Ginger-Garlic paste-1tbsp
  7. Grated coconut-1/2 a coconut
  8. Coriander powder-1tbsp
  9. Chilly Powder-1tbsp
  10. Fennel seeds-1tbsp
  11. Garam masala
  12. Oil
  13. Curry leaves
  14. Salt
Instructions

  • Dry fry ingredients 7-10 till it become golden brown.
  • Grind it to a smooth paste without adding water.
  • Cook beef with turmeric powder and salt, for atleast 20 mts in low flame.
  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry coconut pieces.
  • Saute onion.
  • Add chillies, ginger-garlic paste and saute well.
  • When it is done to a smooth paste add tomato and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the coconut paste and add required water and boil.
  • Add cooked beef,and boil.
  • Add garam masala and curry leaves.
