Kadala / Black Chickpeas Thoran

Another thoran of mine. I love chickpeas. No matter which variety it is.I love to eat this recipe along with hot kanji (rice soup). Ususlly i make kadala curry it goes along with put and rice.This is an excellent source of protein.

Ingredients

  • Kadala (soaked overnight and cooked with a little water and salt)-200gms
  • Grated coconut-1/2 cup
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Garlic-1 small
  • Red Chillies-2
  • Shallots-2
  • Coconut oil
  • Curry leaves

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Splutter musturd seeds,shallots sliced round,red chilly and curry leaves
  • Put cooked kadala and in a medium flame allow the remaining water to get evoperated.
  • Grind coconut,cumin seeds,garlic,shallots,red chilly,turmeric powder.
  • Crush a stem of curry leaves after grinding the coconut mixture.
  • Put this mixture in to kadala.
  • Mix well.
